Digital Templator – Auckland
We’re looking for our first digital templator to join Digital Measuring Solutions (DGMS) in Auckland and work alongside Clive as we grow our onsite digital measurement service.
This role is a great fit for someone who loves accuracy, practical problem-solving and seeing work go from site measurement to a clean, buildable outcome.
Location: Auckland-based with some travel across New Zealand
Salary: 60,000–85,000 NZD depending on experience
Vehicle and training provided
In this short video, Clive walks through what we do at DGMS, how digital templating fits into real projects, and the kind of person who will enjoy this role.
About Digital Measuring Solutions
Who we are
Digital Measuring Solutions helps New Zealand’s fabricators and builders move from manual templating to fast, precise digital measurement.
We measure complex sites using world-leading tools and workflows, then deliver clean, organised CAD-ready geometry that makes design and fabrication smoother, faster and more reliable.
About the role
We partner with teams across:
Glass and balustrades
Joinery and kitchens
Stone and benchtops
Aluminium and metal fabrication
Construction and architectural projects
What this role is about
This is a hands-on technical role that sits between site reality and digital accuracy.
You will:
Visit sites around Auckland (and occasionally other parts of NZ)
Capture accurate digital measurements using our tools and processes
Turn that data into tidy, CAD-ready geometry that fabricators can trust
Communicate clearly with clients and help solve practical site issues
This is not a sales role. The core of the job is measurement and clean CAD handover. Over time, there is optional room to support demos and digital workflow conversations if that interests you.
Who we think will enjoy this
You don’t need to have done “digital templating” before. We’re open to different backgrounds.
This role is a great fit if you:
Come from joinery, glass, stone, metal, surveying or shop drawing/detailing
Enjoy getting things right and noticing details
Are comfortable on construction sites and talking to installers or project managers
Either have some CAD experience or are genuinely keen to learn
If you are practical, accurate, calm under pressure and like seeing work installed correctly, you’ll feel at home here.
Day-to-day responsibilities
Site measurement and problem solving
Visit sites and capture precise measurements using DGMS digital workflows
Interpret site conditions, tolerances, and installation constraints
Confirm critical details with clients before handover
Spot risks early so the measurement approach matches the fabrication method
Digital handover and CAD
Produce clean, consistent, well-layered CAD-ready geometry
Label key details so fabricators can proceed with confidence
Follow DGMS file standards and quality checks
Equipment and communication
Look after measurement gear and keep data tidy and organised
Communicate clearly with clients about scope, deliverables and next steps
Occasionally support demos or workflow conversations when businesses are exploring digital measurement (optional growth area)
What you’ll get
Specialist training on our tools, workflows and file standards
A company vehicle for site visits
Real variety across architectural and high-end residential projects
A future-proof skill set in a fast-growing area of the construction world
Spot risks early so the measurement approach matches the fabrication method
A small, supportive team where you’ll be the first digital templator and can grow with the business
